Lyrics: T. Curatolo/Butch Monserrat

Looking at faces with painted eyes

Stare up above at starless skies

Love that has faded but the pages remain

Tells a story of burnt out flames

Empty hearts and raining tears

Crying for all those wasted years

Holding hands in our own book of lies

Hides the truth in our favorite lines

Chorus:

Candles burn while we sit here and wait

And wonder what is to be our fate

Is there an end to all of our crazy

dreams of pretend

Here we still live in a love that’s failed

So far away from a fairytale

We share lifeless kisses in a life of despair

Lying still in the cold midnight air

Chorus:

Candles burn while we sit here and wait

Wondering what is to be our fate

Is there an end to all of our crazy

dreams of pretend

Bridge:

Facing the truth is a cold hard fact

We have now come to the final act

The curtain comes down on a sad lonely clown

On a story that now ends

Chorus:

Candles burn while we sit here and wait

And wonder what is to be our fate

Is there an end to all of our crazy

dreams of pretend

Candles burn while we sit here and wait

And wonder what is to be our fate

Is there an end to all of our crazy

dreams of pretend

Hi, Tony!

Good to see you back. I like  this one.  Only question I have is on a line in the chorus.

Whole thing is singable but I run into trouble when I reach, " is there an end to all of our crazy" in the chorus.
I can sing it but I think it could be smoother or at least that's how it comes across to me. I think the problem is often what translates one way for one person might translate or come out differently to another.

How about :  " Is there an end to our fantasy" and then "Dreams of pretend"  follow on the next line.

Just a thought.
