Wasted
A forgotten man
Forlorn in this
Wretched land
Wasted
What a shame
A lost soul
Down the drain

Thrown away
In the trash
People hate me
Bound to clash
Down and out
On my own
She's not here
I sleep alone

Wasted
A forgotten man
Forlorn in this
Wretched land
Wasted
What a shame
A lost soul
Down the drain

Alienated
Isolated
Disregarded
Alone and jaded

Forlorn in this
Wretched land
Wasted
What a shame
A lost soul
Down the drain

Awesome Jim!  Outstanding!

Flows like Rich Honey.  This was a pleasure to read.

Hi Jim, I feel your pain.
Great write but very short & stark lines. I would change it a bit & vary it slightly. Here are a few ideas, but of course it depends on the melody etc.

A forgotten man
Forlorn in this wretched land
Feel the pain for this lost soul
Do you even know my name
I tasted love before
A casualty, now cast free
I’m wasted by this war
