Actually John, what that indicates is that people still get their FIRST EXPOSURE to new music through radio as opposed to other means. Then they usually go find the songs they like on other methods.Although younger people, 12-24 are getting the majority of what they listen to on YOU TUBE,which goes with what I now tell most writers to be aware of:

If you are really interested in "getting your songs out there" you should be prepared to do some form of video on YOU TUBE in addition to just the demo of the song. It all goes back to PRESENTATION of the song. Now, just getting a demo done on a song is no longer very relevant. And it speaks to my comments about working WITH artists, instead of just doing a demo on a song.

If you were to be involved with a performing artist, helping that artist in their journey, getting them songs or writing songs with them involved, possibly doing a video, you are going to be closer to getting your songs "out there" than just the days of getting a demo done.

It is more of the changes that have come to music as we have reached the Internet age. But even in the Internet age, some things don't change as much as some people think. Radio is still the primary way people get their first exposure to music.
