Thread: MAB Q&A
OD OldDog

Okay, it's Thursday evening, the date we had all planned our trip for; to help MAB celebrate his Birthday Show; but there was another reason for us to be there.  MAB and Tina's dear friend Susie Martin had been fighting cancer for nearly two years but she recently lost her battle and sadly passed away.  S.O.B.   MAB was her dear friend and he was the one taking her back and forth for most of her treatments, so it was especially difficult for him to deal with.  MAB decided to make his Birthday Bash to include a Susie Memorial event.  And so it was.

MAB takes the stage just shortly after 8:00pm.  Oh, he doesn't just take the stage but he takes over the stage and soon owns it.  By this time many younger college kids show up thinking they are going to support their friends performing that night; but they have no idea what they are about to witness.  Bobby's Idol Hour is a small venue so the tables in the seating area didn't hold that many and they were all taken by us that showed up early.  There was a smaller area for standing room only that they gathered and listened to the show MAB and others put on.  I watched them closely because I was curious if they would enjoy MAB's performance or not ; but they got into every song he played and every song from every guest performer he brought onto the stage.  The first was hit songwriter and MAB's good buddy Jimbeau Hinson.  OMG!!!   What a show Jimbeau and MAB performed together and the audience listened to every song simply spellbound by their performance. For them and most of us also; it was a lesson and a great performance put on by great artiist's in Nashville.  S.O.B.

The show and entertainment didn't stop with MAB and Jimbeau.  MAB later brought on his hit songwriting friends like Paul Jefferson, his good buddy Heino and his "New Crew" which consisted of the better songwriters and newer artists that began as a student of his.  OMG one again, the show continued to keep the pace from the Pro's and hold their own as we enjoyed each performance.

Okay, what a night I witnessed that evening and I'm sure the others would agree.  The next morning we got up early (against my wishes) to join MAB again on Friday morning to have breakfast with his friends at BoJangles; and we even got KevMo to leave his computer to join us.  After breakfast  MAB took all of us to the "Musicians Hall of Fame" and we had a great time going through that place.  After that MAB took us to one of his favorite restaurants called "Morelli's' which was designed for guests to sit at large tables with others to meet and greet and pass the food back and forth.  I heard MAB mention this place before but I have to admit the food was fantastic and the opportunity to meet new people was much easier than I first imagined.  I have to go back there again.

There is more to conclude our trip but I'll save it for another post or keep it to myself.  It truly depends on how many beers are left downstairs in the fridge.
