Thread: MAB Q&A

I guess I'll give a brief overview of my trip to Nashville to meet Kevin and OD for MAB's birthday bash.

Monday: Drove all day. That afternoon we went grocery shopping, ate in, and chilled! We were all tired.

Tuesday: Practiced songs all day. Went to the Opry Back Stage Grill to catch The Willies Nashville, featuring Steve Williams and Will Nance. Was able to pay Steve for a CD he gave me last year at Frank Brown Songwriters Festival.

Wednesday: Left around 11:30am for Sam's Jams at Bobby's Idol Hour. Managed to take a wrong exit off Briley and took a scenic route through downtown Nashville. BUT, it turned out to be a great accident, because it seemed shorter and faster. Kevin and I were in a round at 1pm and played 3 songs each. Went out to lunch with MAB, Charles, Janet, and 3 other new friends, who's names I just can't remember. (A sign of "aging") Spent the rest f the afternoon at Sam's Jams then went to Commodore for an 8pm MAB show. Was great!

Thursday: Went to breakfast with MAB and some of his special friends. A bunch of really fun, cool, interesting, "old" guys! (But don't tell them that! They think they are still teens!) Didn't practice songs. OPPSSS!! Spent the day chilling. Thursday night Kevin and I were in a 6:30pm round and played 3 songs. I BLEW IT on the first 2 songs, but nailed it on the last one, "Bored Games". MAB's birthday bash started just after 8pm and ran until after 10pm. Was an AWSOME show!! Jimbeau, Bonnie Lee Panda, Alan Sherville, Charles and Janet, Sam Cooper, Jason Gregory, a few special guests that just showed up, plus others I can't remember. (DAMN aging!!)

Friday: Went to breakfast with MAB and special friends again. Really enjoy those guys. I have a standing invitation next time I'm in town. MAB took us on a tour of Nashville and showed us where all the rich live. BIG houses on 1+ acres. Went downtown to the Musicians Hall of Fame. MAB got real upset at the Jimmy Hendrix guitar display, because it was not strung correctly. He is going to have a word with the management! he got one of the managers to give us a sneak preview of the Woodstock drum set that won't be on official display until next month. It is a really cool museum!

Saturday: Chilled all day! Took a long nap. We ate in.

Sunday: A 10 1/2 hour drive home! Was a GREAT TIME guys!! We'll do it again!
