A big thanks to Steve (Sid Chigger) last night for a great evening at his house. Was great to see all the Rampers show up yesterday at Bobby's and then get to hang out and commiserate with you at Steve's. He has an AMAZING CIVIL WAR COLLECTION and knows about every piece he has. As someone who has really been into the Civil War, it was really cool being able to see all that. My Dad used to live at the foot of Kennesaw Mountain in Georgia, so I was very much into it, particularly when my step brother and I found a l cavalry saber in the woods. Turned it into the museum.
But Steve was a great host.
Was great to hear all your songs and stories. And of course, really cool to hear everyone playing on the song Ali and I rote two days ago. John, as always did great keyboards on that and Dale Crockett really drove it well. they knew it better than I did. LOL!
To me, that is what all of this is about. Creating something from nothing, developing it, and then performing it. Ali did a really great job. Tonight I'm gonna have her come to the "New Crew" revival show at THE MAXWELL HOUSE.
The "New Crew' is a group of people 'I have been writing, working, mentoring and performing with for about 7 years now. Allen Shervelle, Bonnie Lee Panda, and Alice Bargeron. We have all written songs and sing harmony on each other's stuff. Did it last week and we were a little rusty so I thought we'd swing at it again. Should be good.
