Ott Luck- RIP 2016

Ott was an interesting fellow. No matter what happened in any writing career, the biggest thing is PARTICIPATION and he did that in many ways. Did his contests, participated in many threads here, was good at commenting on people's songs, and kept a healthy output of songs. I hope his family appreciate his efforts and hang on to those.
He and I always got a bit at loggerheads, as I wanted him to get out  of the living room and meet some writers face to face. I helped mentor a group in his hometown of Minneapolis and we did shows, seminars, and other things and I tried many times to get him out to meet people. Would have very much enjoyed meeting him in person, but he may have had health or other reasons he didn't want to do that, and I understand. He never mentioned it, and I never asked. I reach out when I can and don't want to bother people if they don't respond. He just never seemed interested in that and I understand that.
Ott was active in many places. He made useful comments and provided food for thought to many people. All are much richer for having had a dialogue with him. I hate that we were never aware of his health situation as I would have liked to let him know we cared about him. But these things happen. Too bad we often never let people know things while they are alive.
So I salute and remember Ott Luck. Will have a little drink and toast today at Bobby's Idle hour. If anyone knows of any information on him, please post it here. Would like to send a note to his family if there are any contact info.
