Thread: MAB Q&A

I just uploaded a new song on open mic here and I haven't copyrighted it yet!

Am I open to folks stealing my song?   It doesn't sound like anything on country radio today, the recording is lousy, there's no real story line and it really doesn't even make much sense -- but I am worried that someone will take it and make it a #1 hit and not give me any credit.  What can I do about that?

Have you heard of To-The-Top Publishers in nashville?   They said I have a great sound (before they even heard my song!) and they want to re-record it in a Nashville Studio, put it on a compilation CD and send it out to 1,000 radio stations.   The demo will only cost $350, inclusion on the CD $100 (what a deal) and then $100 a month in pitching fees.   This seems cheap to me, it will save me the time and money of actually traveling to nashville and meeting people.  I can just stay at home and crank out the tunes myself -- and no cowriters to have to split all my royalty money with.

Anyway, nice site you have here.  Do you know how to get a song to Jason Aldean?  It is a perfect song called "Her Kinda Party" and it even has a rap section in it (yo-yo!)   Talk to you all soon.
