Learn to dream
I was sitting in my garden
Watching a lovely butterfly
Sipping nectar from a flower
While a hummingbird happened by.
Her wings were a blur of color
As she hovered from bloom to bloom
Nearby was a frog with a smile
In the shade of a large mushroom.
He rolled out his tongue flicked up a fly
As if it were a sacrament.
And I couldn’t help but wonder
If frogs are in love -do they kiss?
I looked around amazed
By what I’d never seen
The world is full of wonder
If you only dream.
Yes life is full of wonder
When you learn to dream.
You don’t need imagination
You don’t need drugs or alcohol.
Just close your eyes and take a step
And you will slowly start to fall.
You won’t need any parachute
As you fall you will learn to fly.
When you’re no longer chained to earth
You’ll understand the how and why.
Turn loose of what you’re holding to
There’s a lot more to life than this.
