HOWDY!

Big Daddy Chigger (BD) had sent me some lyrics he had written. ( with me in mind ) After going over them I pulled from them a couple VERY important lines and wrote a new song - my version- He's sooo inspiring :  )BD and Sid, aka Steve- Chigger had come to Michigan when I lived there a few years back for a visit on their way to IL. That was a wonderful too short time....but it was enough for BD to "somewhat" get to know a little more about me. ( and I him)  His lyric "thoughts" were spot on...I just took them and went on a new path...co writers do that ya knoe? :  )

I had been looking online at houses and I believe that's where this song started to take off...we're renting this house we're in and the 21st will be 2 yrs we've lived here since moving to AZ. It's a good house... and I have a lovely view and nice neighbors...I started a garden out back...etc but it's not.... home.

Anywaaay.... 

Moving from the Mid-West to the DESERT has been so WONDERFUL and amazing ( and strange  ) ....we still are AWED by this town! We live in a valley ( bowl ) and are surrounded by BEAUTIFUL MTS!!!

We also live 2 blocks off famous Route 66 and we have 2 sets of train tracks that run right through town and right along Route 66 too....they go by allllll day long and I fell in LOVE with them the moment we arrived.

I recorded this song on our 2nd year anniversary ( March 8th ) around 7:30 at night in my kitchen with my ZOOM H-4 recorder. It was cool out... the back door was open, no lights.... and evening was comin on....where I was sitting I could see the Haulapai Mts in the setting sun's light...I was "in" the moment.....during the recording after I sang the break I started to hear the BNSF ( Burlington Northern Santa Fe) train coming....I had totally forgot about it otherwise I would have recorded in the bathroom : ) But instead of stopping I kept going and let the train be apart of the song...after all it's as famous as Route 66 and the MTs....it just felt right to let it ride along.....

I know I know it's not the type of recording some folks would call....professional....but.....it's a moment in time I will not forget and it captured how I felt and feel about this very special place I now live.....THAT folks to me is true songwriting!
