Hi,
Here's one I wrote for my wife for our 17th wedding anniversary - Finished it with just few days to spare last week. :)
I welcome any and all suggestions for improvements.
Thanks,
John
---- For You --------
Piles of crumpled papers, worn and tired tunes
I can't help but ask myself - what else can I do?
It seems it should be easy - pour out pure emotion
In flowing lines and graceful rhymes that capture my devotion
If I could write a love song, that's exactly what I'd do
If I could write a love song, I'd write, and sing, for you
The deepest things inside us, are hardest to reveal
Still I swear, I'll find a way to show you how I feel
In a song that ties and binds, hearts and souls together
And reminds you how I'll love you, every second 'til forever
If I could write a love song, that's exactly what I'd do
If I could write a love song, I'd write, and sing, for you
And I can make a promise, it'd be the best you've ever heard
Only perfect phrases, wrapped in perfect words
And those words would ride a melody that takes us ever higher
They'd tug on every heart string, like a Sunday morning choir
And I'd sing it to the whole world, and tell 'em it's for you
If I could write a love song, that's exactly what I'd do
If I could write a love song, I'd write, and sing, for you
