I was going to post up another Dodi song but her hubby and my wife might start wondering, so I am changing direction.
I owned a political software and consulting business for years, with stupidly famous clients. Every weekend I held parties and I sang songs I made up that made fun of my clients. No politicians were allowed to the Gazebo parties – just political consultants and musical friends. When I decided to get out of politics I wanted to give my friends a good-bye so I took all the political songs I wrote, went to the Sonic Temple Studio in Elgin, IL and produced The GoverNuts. This is the first song on that CD. Don’t get excited.. No I did not bring Frank Sinatra back to life. It is me singing the lead vocals.
I am not sure if we are allowed to link here but the entire CD is free for listening and download at http://www.agust.com/governuts/index.html Pay no mind to the order CD verbage at the bottom of the page. Just download.
I Ramp-Classified the song as Rock, but there is no way to possibly tell what this music is. I was just having fun. Here are the lyrics. I also wrote the music, arranged (yea - that was hard) and produced the recording.
The plolitika rock is a pile of crock
But I guess we like the rhythm of the blues
Everybody’s swaying to political sayings
And turning on the late night news
Now the GoverNuts got a brand new band
And they think it’ll go all the way
But when they put your hands in your pockets
You can almost hear them say
Chorus:
Politika roll (big money) politika rock
Politika roll (big money) politika rock
Well we vote them in because we think it’s a sin
To see a politician work a real job
Four yeas and seven minutes ago today our contributors brought forth upon us a proposition that all big money is created equal - I’ll take it all.
The capitol rap is a pile of crap
And it is that way today
Because the pot-bellied fat-heads wrote the tune
So it’s gotta be sung that way
The GOP holds a party
And puts a gorilla with religion at the door
While the democrats gather down at the river
And pass around the hat for more.
Chorus
