Agust Gudmundsson songs
I mentioned in another post how producer Jacob Magnusson put a mike on a grand piano, fed the line to a sound room, into an amp and through a spinning speaker (old Hammond days folks know what the Leslie is) and put a concert Sennheiser pointed at the speaker, not just the piano, to feed into the track. Well, that is on this song, the title track of the Middle Class Man project.
Do not think this (the words I wrote) is what I think. Or do I? This is art. All of the songs on this album are a young man’s vision of what he saw about him in the world. I saw many of my friends giving up on their dreams and becoming very happy just settling for the best they could get and settling down. This, if they could write a song, is what I think they would say.
I say that because I want all of us on SongRamp to remember that it is OK, in my opinion, to keep dreaming, whether you are 15 or 115. We have a friend in Canada who is over a hundred years old and my wife has been typing his stories from his hand-writtne notes and he will someday be published. That I believe
Enjoy.

Middle Class Man
When I look back I have to say I’m proud, yes I’m proud
I have an office job, respected man – with no doubt
Cozy apartment near the house I wanted since I was six
I have a perfect wife who gave me three lovely kids
I could have ended up digging ditches in the rain
Momma said son now go to school – that’s all
- - repeat
When I was young I had a dream I wanted to change the world
Then I discovered things about my life I should do first
Soon I began to find myself just living the best I can
Now I’m a family man, happy to be where I am
I could have ended up digging ditches in the rain
Momma said son now go to school – that’s all
- - repeat
This should be easy for all man to see
Life is no fight and it shall never be
