I was with my friends that helped make the Pelican LPs and the Middle Class Man Project. We were in a place called Fristaden (Freetown Christiania.) It was a place in Copenhagen that was free of Demark law against cannibis trade. There was a paying club there where we did a gig and I came up with the idea that we should sell our own records at a table at the entrance just like the pot and hash dealers sold their stuff. I proposed we put a sign up that said..
Buy My Record.
I want to be lonely at the top
Start making records and never stop
I want to write a million dollar tune
And leave the rest up to you
Just buy my record and learn my song
Get all your friends to sing along
And when you are rolling down the road
Sing along with the radio
Oh won’t you
Buy my record
Buy my record
Or maybe sing along with me.
Buy my record
Buy my record
Or maybe sing along when I sing my song
On the radio.
I could have finished school
Got a steady job
Or found myslelf an
Easy bank to rob
I could have tried to do most anything
But what I like to do is sing
So when you hear me on the radio
Sing along with the words you know
And you can tell your friends
You knew him when
He was still trying to make it big

It was years later, at the HomeGrown WV Green farm, that this was recorded with Scotty singing lead and Ruby the farmer offering bass and BJ adding harmony. Recorded on the old Studer Revox. Words and music - Agust Gudmundsson.
