This was part of the Middle Class Man project. Back up. On my previous upload, Politika Rock, the guitar player is Omar Oskarsson. I flew him to the US to help me with the GoverNuts CD. Long before that Omar went to an Independent label, now out of business, and convinced them to send us to Morgan Studios in London, England. Look up Morgan and you will know why we wanted to be there.
We gathered up the best singers and musicians in Iceland and took them to London to do this. We got the guy who later became an Ambassador, and ultimately is known for his production abilities to meet us there.
When Omar told me he got the deal he also told me that we had to have 10 new songs written in a month. “Hey, Gusti” he said. I told the guy that we would get the best Icelandic musicians from all or Scandinavia and Europe and we will give this supergroup a super set of songs.” Omar had not called anyone yet to perform. I had not written anything. But we did it. In a total flip from all of my other stuff. I wrote the words. Omar wrote all the music. He is not just a great musician, he puts out melodies like we breathe.
We pulled it off. We had a blast. Riding in those odd shaped cabs, meeting people like Rod Stewart who took over the studio one night (yes he paid for us to go across the street to finish our work one night so he could have a party in the big room – Morgan 3), chasing down the team – “Hey, I need you to sing in an hour. What is that white powder you just sucked up your nose? Are you OK?” and finding a baby sitter for the Arial vocalist we wanted for the song posted here.
We only pressed 10,000 copies and they sold out fast and the label went under. I see someone is selling a copy on for around 300 bucks. Don’t waste your time. I have it all digitized. Actually this person wants $391.30 Maybe that is a bid. That’s outrageous!

Here it is. It is called “Thank You All.”
Writers, Co-Producers: Omar Oskarsson, Agust Gudmundsson
Bust out vocals in the fadeout: Liza Strike, who you heard on Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon
Head Producer: Jacob Magnusson
The drummer, Asgeir, was dating my sister at the time. He went on to become a standard member of the All Scandinavian Jazz band. That is sort of like Playboy putting together the best – if we could get them together – band ever. All the others went on to have performance and recording careers, except one. The piano player was a music teacher from a rural town in Iceland. He went back to his love.. teaching kids music. He probably was the one that should have jumped into the big time. He can be heard on other cuts from the Middle Class Man album that I will post here if my wife lets me pay for more space.
Enjoy. This was 16 track, so very little bouncing. Except you can hear our Rosenberg and Martin influence in how we placed the guitars near the end. Jacob did do an interesting thing on this session. He passed some stuff through the Hammond Whriley speakers and miked the outcome of that to create sounds that are unique.
Enough talk. I wish I could share more Dodi and my softer pretty songs but, with this, I am out of space. I hope this song is a good sendoff.
