Robert Hall songs
Credits: Lyrics written by Robert Hall. After the music was written, a friend of mine named John (Tiger Ant) had listened to the music. He told me of a vision of what he saw when he listened and it inspired me to write these lyrics which were very close to a real life senario. Piano and bass by Jam Studio musicians and me on guitar.
Greed for the Money lyrics
verse 1
I saw a man sitting in the alley, it was twenty below, it was cold and snowing.
He looked up at me and he asked do you have any spare change
so I gave what I had in my pocket.
The sky was dark and the wind was blowing
but he smiled just the same as he took off like a rocket.
chorus
I thought to myself it's just a bit funny
how the whole world seems to run on greed for the money.
verse 2
I saw him again today in the diner, as I walked in and shook off the cold.
He looked up at me and asked would I care to join him
So I sat down as he ordered some coffee
He said I may look a bit tired and old.
Please give me a chance to work for what you gave me.
chorus
I thought to myself it's just a bit funny
How I thought the whole world ran on greed for the money.
repeat verse 1 and fade
