We recently had a raccoon chew holes in our roof because he thought our house looked like a good place to live for the winter. There were enough holes for a golf course. He was living in the attic for awhile. We live near a lot of woods so we see a lot of wild life. Mr. Raccoon was escorted to another area far from here and I'm sure it's much nicer residence than ours. So this story is the inspiration of the song.

Up on the rooftop there arose such a clatter

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter

The downstairs fireplace was filling with smoke

The soot filled my eyes as I looked up and spoke

Hey Santa! Are you stuck in my chimney?

Or are you just a furry pest trying to build a nest?

Hey Santa! Are you stuck inside my chimney?

'Cause I'll call 911 before you burn your buns

The fireman came in the wink of an eye

All of the reindeer were standing close by

They threw down a tow rope to help pull him out

In the back of my mind I still had my doubts

Hey Santa!..............

I knew in an instant Santa broke free

From the cheer of the crowd as he flew down the street

He plans to work out at the gym this year

So next holiday season he won't have to hear

Hey Santa!...............
