COUNTRY BORN
By George Carter Jr. and James Cain © 2011
Raised in the country on a little farm
Feeding corn to the chickens and playing in the barn
Working in the fields till the evening comes
Singing on the back porch when the work is done
Country born and country bred
I’m country from my feet to the top of my head
Country raised On down home country love
And country fits me just Like a glove
Blue skies, trees and fields of green
Riding my horse in my ole blue jeans
I learned about life from my ma and pa
And to love the one who made it all
(George can I get an amen)
Music break
Some folks like living in the city
Where neon signs light the streets
Now they can live anywhere they want to
But for me brother I’ll live In the country
Country born and country bred
I’m country from my feet to the top of my head
Country raised On down home country love
And country fits me just Like a glove
And country fits me just Like a glove
(Hey George go ahead and shut the barn door?)
