BEAR MOUNTAIN
copyright(c) John Orr & Tom Ebelt
In the foothills of Virginia, there's a story that they tell.
"Bout the creatures on the mountain, and the songs they play so well.
Here's the ledgend on Bear Mountain. How the creatures formed a band.
Raised their voices to the heavens, Let it echo through the land.
If you listen you can hear them, you can tell they're having fun.
All their voices blend so sweetly, making music in the sun.
(chorus)
And there's a bear playing rhythm guitar.
Beaver pounds his tail upon the drum.
Woodchuck keeping tempo on the tamborine.
Come on all you children, there's room for everyone.
When the sun shines on Bear Mountain, all God's children want to dance.
If makin' music makes you happy, gather 'round and clap your hands.
Kick your heels up to the music, spread your arms and form a ring.
Make a circle with your friends now, if you feel good you can sing.
(chorus)
When it's evening on Bear Mountain, and the sun drops from the sky.
All the creatures go to bed now, close their eyes and breathe a sigh.
And it's quiet in the forest, wind just whispers through the trees.
And the moon shines on the meadow, crickets talkin' to the breeze.
(chorus)
