I remember waking up, with a smile on my face
she'd say,"good morning sunshine" it's time to chase the day
the smell of ham and eggs, and butter biscuits filled the air
and I'd race her to the kitchen and grab myself a chair

I'd sit on her lap, she'd brush my hair a hundred times
it taught me how to count, and made my blond curls shine
I felt like a princess, in her high heels and matching purse
with my pretty Sears and Roebuck dress and her favorite string of pearls
