It certainly confuses me.

Someone turned the lights out in September.Someone drew the blinds and locked the door.And I'm trying to overcome my defences one by one.From my hideaway - where I've seen better days.

Well battle scars are part of my conviction.As I save my braver faces for the crowd.It's my solitary way to distinguish the night from dayWhen I'm underground.That's what I have found.
