This is a song I wrote a few years ago and just got around to recording.
The vocalist is Tiffany Noblett who was one of two winners in our local vocal competition. I was taken by her tone and asked her to sing this song, while I played a Yamaha C3 Conservatory Grand.
The song is not a conventional format. There are two verses, each with a one line chorus and it ends with a bridge.
Verse 1
Gone Far from Home
And I know
I did just what I had to do
But at night
When I’m all alone
It’s then when I’m blue
All I think about is loving you
Verse 2
I remember times
When I thought
You and I would never do
Then you call on the phone
And your voice
Comes melting through
Its then all I can think about is loving you
Bridge Ending
Now we’re older
Some things have changed
Priorities rearranged
Yet our tendencies remain the same
There's no one, no one to blame
and I'm sorry if I caused you pain
But I wake up at night callin your name
Can we ever hope to be in love again
