A fan came up after a show in Alliance, Nebraska, asking if I had ever worked with someone elses idea for a song. 

I said, "No, not really."

He was insistent, however, so I said, "Write it down."

A few minutes later, he was back with these meager notes: "Refrain: These moments are lost like tears in the rain. (about mortality). Verses: I've seen, heard, smelled, (about experiences)." 

Back in the motel room later that night, here's what came of it.
