Sarah and I started this song Tuesday and finished Wednesday while we were in Nashville for the Ramp Bash and I recorded it Thursday at the Ryman(in their little touristy faux recording booth for $20)but engineer was cool and I thought the quality was good enough to post, just quiet volume and I only got to do 1 take!..LOL.... I've been listening to a lot of Gram Parsons and wanted to sing an emotional vocal here as on his GP album from early 70's..I want to later add harmonies to the chorus and strings underneath..I hope our songwriter friends can relate to the storyline in the song..We gotta head out of Bashland Sat. morn and I WILL MISS all u guys something terrible!I know the musical relationship online can be intense but in person its unbelievably special..;)My experience on Songramp has saved my life countless times and it really feels like a big family.Sarah says she had a great time this year as well..;)We love ya'll.Can't wait til Rampbash 2012 (I'm not worrying bout the Mayan thing but if it happens at least I will be with my peeps)--ts

Lyrics by Sarah & Timothy Scott
1) When you’re running out of road
And you’ve given all your heart
The music’s not as sweet, no
Not how it sounded at the start
2) And you feel the pull of home
Getting stronger every mile
So tired of being unknown
You crave the comfort of her smile
Chorus:
How long can you keep
Chasing played-out dreams
Trying to find where you belong
The picture in your mind
Faded over time
So dim that now it’s almost gone
3) When you’re outside looking in
At what used to be your life
There’s no way you can win
In a game you’ve left behind
4) Wonder what it all was for
Was it worth the price you paid
Is it wrong to hope for more?
You’ve got one more song to play…
Repeat Chorus
Repeat Verse 1
Repeat Verse 4
