Lyrics by D Rulliere
Melody by D Rulliere/J Kolb
Arranged by J Kolb
Vocals and harmonies by J Kolb & D Rulliere
A simple little folk song from a couple of simple little folk!
If I had had my way there would be no Beeswing vocals on this song.....but that Joe is a hard task master/magician...somehow he created some
tracks of Beeswing singing in tune!!
This is dedicated to Richard and Mariah at Rainbow Hearth, Lake Buchanan, where this song was nurtured and nudged into being.....a wonderful place of peace and creativity....and chocolate......
Home (I Will Never Leave....)
The ice is breaking in the mountain springs
The early bird is learning how to sing
I should fly away, but I still hesitate
No I could never take off in the Spring
A scented dusk and an August moon
The summer is over all too soon
To see it through, I have to stay
How could I go away
And when the autumn leaves begin to fall
And shadows lay across the dry stone walls
The golden amber haze of soft September days
No I could never leave here in the Fall
The dappled white of a snow-lit night
This winter world is a lovely sight
The wood-stove feeds and keeps me warm
Why would I leave this home
Every season finds a way to call
Winter, Spring, or Summer, or the Fall
Every morning brings a message on the wind
Telling me I'll never leave at all
