Bill Osofsky songs
Oak Lane Productions- Brian singing
A few years ago, I was driving on the freeway to a seminar at Snowbird resort featuring Steve Seskin, Annie Roboff and Beth Neilson Chapman. Anyway, I passed a sign saying Reno-240 miles or some such. At my first break during the seminar, I starting writing 100 miles from Tahoe.
A HUNDRED MILES FROM TAHOE
(verse)
You and that blue lake were all that mattered
'Til you stole the magic from those Tahoe nights
I tried to fight the voice in me
That told me that I had to leave
If I was gonna get on with my life.
(prechorus)
I hoped that maybe time itself
Would fix this broken heart
But I need to add some miles to
This distance we're apart
(chorus)
I'm a hundred miles from Tahoe
And the world is looking clearer
Got my future in the windshield
I got Tahoe in the mirror
And the feelings that held on to me
Well, they're finally lettin' go
A hundred miles from Tahoe
A hundred miles from Tahoe
(verse)
We'd sit and watch the sunset on the water
Reflecting like a long and shiny road
After two or three cold beers
It felt like we could step out there
And follow that road anywhere it goes
(prechorus)
It was only an illusion
Like the love I thought we knew
So I had to get away from there
And the memories of you
(repeat chorus)
