Verse I:

You’re cold and indifferent,

So angry and tormented

Feel distant when we’re kissing,

The closeness we shared is missing.

Verse II:

You always want your own way,

Contradict everything I say.

Try to rob me of my pride,

‘Til I feel I’m along for the ride.

Pre-chorus:

I had become so blind to the danger,

Without warning you turned into a stranger.

Chorus:

I failed to notice the signs,

You changed over time.

It was too late when I recognized

The stranger in your eyes!

Hook:

The stranger!

Verse III:

Communication’s broken down,

We talk but you don’t hear a sound.

Don’t want to be alone and afraid

So I keep living this masquerade.

Verse IV:

You’re tearing me apart,

I’m feeling hollow and dark.

With a special kind of hell

I can understand so well.

Pre-chorus:

I had become so blind to the danger,

Without warning you turned into a stranger.

Bridge

We were tied together

But the stranger stole forever.

I’ll open my heart, clear my mind,

Find the courage to leave the stranger behind.

Chorus:

I failed to notice the signs,

You changed over time.

It was too late when I recognized

The stranger in your eyes!

Chorus:

I failed to notice the signs,

You changed over time.

It was too late when I recognized

The stranger in your eyes!

Hi Tony,

You have eloquently brought forth the emotion one would feel under these circumstances.  There are plenty of people that can identify.  No problem holding my attention.  I particularly like your choice of words in the phrasing.  Title drew me right in.. very good.  I only see one or two tiney little things that might help the rhyme or flow for that verse, but wouldn't change a thing until I had music and melody.  Your pre-chorus is absolutely PERFECT.  It shouts out: Hey, guess what?  Supprise!  You've just been blind-sided.   Very strong!

You have a great set of lyrics here Tony.

That's my openion and i'm stickin to it.

Hi Jody,

Yes, they're many relationships in which one partner starts changing little by little until the other partner feels that they've become a stranger that they don't recognize anymore. I'm glad that you believe that I hit the mark on the underlying emotions in these situations. . It'll be a song in the future and I'll be glad to post it. Thanks for your insights.
