Ten Tiny Numbers

© Gary Orphey

(Female Voice 1st or 3rd person)

(V1)

Take my number ─ I know you like what you see.

I can tell ─ the way you’re looking at me.

I’ve been asking around ─ I know who you are.

Take my number ─ I can take you to the stars.

(V2)

Take my number ─ call me when you can.

I’m looking at you ─ and I need a man.

You’re my number one ─ on long, long list.

Call or you won’t know ─ what you’ve missed.

(Chorus)

Just ten tiny numbers ─ dialed by you,

Will be proof ─ that I’m the real thing.

I may be sunbathing ─ by the pool,

In my red bikini ─ that’s only a string.

I’m small town dancer ─ a hot romancer,

Just ten tiny numbers - makes my telephone ring

(Middle Eight / Bridge Instrumental)

(V3)

Write my number down ─ before you go.

I hope you liked ─ my little teaser show.

Maybe I can be ─ your Southern Belle,

With just a little more ─ of my show and tell.

 (Chorus)

Just ten tiny numbers ─ dialed by you,

Will be proof ─ that I’m the real thing.

I may be sunbathing ─ by the pool,

In my red bikini ─ that’s only a string,

I’m small town dancer ─ a hot romancer,

Just ten tiny numbers - makes my telephone ring

Pretty cool tune, Gary.  I do have one small suggestion, though, in the chorus, and it would be a way that you could get the hook in twice.

How about on the last line, instead of saying "so be sure - let my telephone ring", you could say something like "Just ten tiny numbers to make my telephone ring."         Just a thought.

Thanks Gwyneth tthat's very nice of you and.....Yes Dale, I like that idea very much.  The title / hook needs to be more prominent for sure. In there twice will sure help.  A big thanks to two cool people!

Gary, I think this is really good.  You have an original idea here.  I had to count on my fingers to see if there are really ten numbers in a phone number, and there are.
