We ain’t broke’n yet

But we ain’t fixing it

Baby we’ve made enough mistakes

Have we really got what it takes

I got no alibi

Not that I didn’t try

We just ain't talking it through

do the things that we used to do

CHORUS:

We ain’t what we used be

I wonder if you can ever see

The pieces that I am in your hand

Will you surrender me to the sky,

like a fluttering butterfly

And when you close your eyes, I’ll fly away…

Baby I’m saying can’t you see

We ain’t what we used to be

Soul mates never die

But we’re crippled inside

We took each day as it came

And we both know who is to blame

We ain’t broke’n yet

But we ain’t fixing it

Tell me will this love turn around

Or crash and burn to the ground

CHORUS:

We ain’t what we used be

I wonder if you can ever see

The pieces that I am in your hand

Will you surrender me to the sky,

like a fluttering butterfly

And when you close your eyes, I’ll fly away…

Baby I’m saying can’t you see

We ain’t what we used to be

BRIDGE:
What we shared was real enough
Breaking up would be really rough
But there’s a tear in my heart
Where you ripped it apart

CHORUS:

We ain’t what we used be

I wonder if you can ever see

The pieces that I am in your hand

Will you surrender me to the sky,

like a fluttering butterfly

And when you close your eyes, I’ll fly away…

Baby I’m saying can’t you see

We ain’t what we used to be

This is beautifully sad Tony. Strong emotional impact.  Another great write from you.

Maybe you could just edit it and tighten it up a bit,  so that it's not so far spread out with the triple line spaces.

(I know the admin is trying to fix this problem that people are having when copying and pasting from a word document.)

Temp  fix for spacing

Go to beginning of line AFTER the spacing  and delete  untilt the lines merge into one  then  hit Shift Return/enter.

it only takes about 30 secs to  edit  a  song. Personally I think the Edit box  needs to be  bigger. Il talk to ed. I think it is an easier fix than the spacing isue

Hi G,

Thanks for the high five compliment on my lyric. I tried to fix the spacing issues but it just doesn't work. Sorry.

I kept thinking this idea fits what is going on in Europe and America.

couldn't get a melody going to this but the concept is really good just needs some fine tuning in my opinion , then it will stand out
