Moonlight drifts across the room

While I sit in the shadows thinking of you

I hear you whisper in the dark

But it's drowned out by the pain in my heart

How I pray for a chance to make things right

As I give way to the night

Chorus

If I could touch a dream, mold it like clay

And be able to keep all the things that I made

I would make our life, as it used to be

When you were in love with me

Yeah I'd give anything

If I could touch a dream

I would build a house where pride can’t live

Filled with hearts that are quick, quick to forgive

Place it in a land that’s far away

Where the sun shines bright and clouds never stay

Then I'd make sweet love to you

All the whole night through

Chorus

If I could touch a dream, mold it like clay

And be able to keep all the things that I made

I would make our life, as it used to be

When you were in love with me

Yeah I'd give anything

If I could touch a dream

I like how you tell the story. The "story telling" is less and less present in modern pop music and that's a pity. These lyrics really tell a story. Once you have music to this you could just listen to the song, close your eyes and see that poor guy sitting in that dark room. Very nice write Tony!

Hi Christian,

I totally agree with your assement of my lyric and the lack of story telling in today's music. I write what's in my heart and not necessarily what fits today's music culture. Thanks so much for your comments.
