Thank you Eddie. That is very correct.
The main reason I wanted to do these threads were because people on most sites were always left hanging somewhat when people commented on their songs, or got into the age old disccusion of "How do you do this?" I always wanted to show people "behind the scenes" in the industry. Primarily when it comes to the "How does so and so do this and I am told I CAN'T DO IT!!"
And of course, the nature of what I do is SAVE PEOPLE TIME AND MONEY. That is the point of my existance. And of course, if I save them time and money, I am paid for my advice on that. So we all win.
The "open mic" forums are always a sticky wicket. The majority of songwriters who do forums (and even a lot that come here) have NO INTEREST in getting information, don't care what other people think, are not really trying to seek commercial efforts in their music. They are just wanting to put it OUT THERE. So open mic forums help in that way.
I have always hoped and still do, that people get to KNOW each other here, visit each other face to face, and be able to take those conversations and relationships to the next levels. Along the way, getting some real world advice that they can take into their writing. At least that is what I am shooting for.
