Here's a Christmas song (more of an Advent song, actually) inspired by an episode of Father Barron's "Catholicism" series. The verses detail the four tasks the Messiah was supposed to perform: (1) gather than nations; (2) cleanse the Temple; (3) defeat the enemies of Israel; and (4) reign as king.

VERSE 1:
Come forth, Messiah
Gather the nations
Shepherd your people
From tribulation
VERSE 2:
Make clean your Temple
Where God and man shall meet
Let blood and water flow
Eternally
REFRAIN:
Whom shall we turn to?
When will you come through?
Why can't we see you?
In the night—shine your light
We need you
Messiah, come to us
VERSE 3:
Fight for your people
Vanquish our enemy
Raise up your mighty arms
And crush iniquity
VERSE 4:
Bring forth your kingdom
Reign as the Lord of all
Make kings bow down to you
And empires fall
(REFRAIN)
VERSE 5:
Come forth, Messiah
Gather the nations
Shepherd your people
From tribulation
Come forth, Emanuel!
Messiah, come to us
