This is a remix with fresh vocals for a song recorded in 2003 for a CD of original Christmas music called "The Christmas Project."
“Bring the Baby In”
There’s a baby in a manger on the front lawn of my yard,
Surrounded by his parents in a little wooden barn.
With shepherds and their sheep along with wise men bowing low,
Reminding us of long ago and a story we all know.
Each year we set the baby and his friends out in the yard,
Then go inside our houses and we spin the Christmas yarn.
We wrap our love in paper placing pretty bows on top,
Yet seldom do we stop to give the babe a single thought.
Well I thought it time for change one year so I brought the baby in,
I put him in our kitchen a place where everyone comes in.
You should’ve seen the faces of my children as they knelt,
There beside the baby Jesus in his blanket made of felt.
That year the Christmas season came and went like all the rest,
Yet for once my family all agreed that this one was the best.
So when December rolls around and you make your Christmas list,
Don’t forget your friends and family but let me challenge you to this.
Bring the baby in, don’t leave him in the yard.
Bring the baby in, let him come into your heart.
Bring the baby in, don’t leave him in the cold.
Bring the baby in, and let his love unfold.
