Right now across the country, there are many children available for adoption, but because they aren't babies or under X years old or maybe they are siblings who hope to stick together or maybe they have physical or mental challenges, they face a tougher time finding families who are willing to adopt them. Year after year these children hope that someone somewhere will say Yes! Maybe potential families aren't aware of these children. So Heart Gallery's were created. We hope "My Forever Family" helps spread the word. We hope "My Forever Family" helps people become aware of these children and the Heart Gallery of Central Texas. http://www.heartgallerytexas.com who helps Central Texas children find their own forever family. There are similar Heart Gallery's and adoption organizations across the United States. In fact the Heart Gallery of Central Texas is holding a Gala and Tommy is going to debut the song there and every attendee is going to receive a CD with the song. Please share it As you listen to "My Forever Family" we encourage you view the children's images, drop by: http://www.heartgallerytexas.com/portraits/1.htm and click NEXT as the song plays About the Heart Gallery The Heart Gallery of Central Texas http://www.heartgallerytexas.com is a project of the Adoption Coalition of Texas and CASA organizations across Central Texas. The Heart Gallery of Central Texas is both an art exhibit and community education effort. The Heart Gallery features professional portraits by renowned documentary and portrait photographers of children in foster care who are waiting to be adopted. you can see photos of the children at: http://www.heartgallerytexas.com/portraits/1.htm The goal of The Heart Gallery of Central Texas is to elicit support for and interest in the lives of these children ? and ultimately find each child and sibling group a ?forever family.? Many of the foster children featured in the gallery are older or special needs children, minorities, or members of a sibling group. All are considered hard-to-place children. We plan to keep the Heart Gallery moving until all of the children are adopted! The Heart Gallery of Central Texas is made possible by the time and talent of more than 45 renowned Central Texas photographers who volunteered hundreds of hours to photograph more than 100 children. The Story Behind "My Forever Family" Tracy Eilers, the director of the Heart Gallery, asked about writing a song that expressed the hopes and dreams of the children featured in the portraits. So, I contacted Tommy Byrd and My Forever Family came about. After hearing a recording of the first draft, Tracy asked if The Heart Gallery could present it at their Gala on Friday March 30th, 2007. Tommy and singing partner Kathy Street performed it at the Gala live and it was very well received. A CD was given to each member of the audience. http://heartgallerytexas.com/blacktie.htm We hope "Forever Family" helps waiting children find their own "Forever Family" Please share "Forever Family." | Details: Uploaded: Apr 1, 2007 Genre: Americana hifi Size: 4168 KB lofi Size: 1305 KB

very beautiful. If your song touches but one heart, and because of that they become a forever family... Then you have changed a life..... Forever :-)

Wonderful version, I'd love to see this over in the Americana genre, because the folks there are familar with Byrd and Street's music, and it'd be great to make sure that this song isn't missed.
I heard that Byrd and Street brought tears to the eyes of the foster kids at the Heart Gallery Gala, I guess they could tell these words came from Tommy's heart as he sang them! Smart kids! Here's hoping that this song changes the lives of more than a few of them... | manatthewindow

Great work in all respects; a most wonderful enterprise to promote and a very fine song with which to assist the good work. That's a particularly good line about not being able to change the whole world, "but you can change mine for me." I thank Karen (KwebbTX) for drawing my attention to this one.
