Songwriting is such a beautiful thing. It is one of my true passions in life. I wrote my first song when I was 16 and have been writing ever since. I love how music is the one thing that I can run to that never lets me down, it brings me great joy, and keeps my dreams alive. I enjoy expressing myself through music. Tammy Edwards has been actively writing and pursuing her music career since 1993. She won her first song writing award in 1994 in Nashville TN. from the Academy of Gospel Music Association winning first place for Inspirational song of the year for my song "Hold me Close". Music has been a passion since childhood when her mom taught her to play the piano from an early age. Tammy has now collected over 16 National Songwriting and vocal awards. Including runner up in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for a children's song she wrote called "Through the Night". In 2002 she was honored to win CCM Album of the year, Overall album of the year and Songwriter of the Year from Just Plain Folks in Hollywood Calif. There were over 20,000 writers. Tammy has 3 compact disk releases * 1994 LIGHT THAT SHINES *1997 SEASONS OF LOVE and *2001 WIDOWS MITE and is currently recording a Christmas CD of original music as well as traditional Christmas Carols.
In 1998 Tammy opened for and performed with CCM recording artist Greg Long, in 2002 opened for Essential Recording Artists FFH in Oklahoma City, and in 2006 opened for Smooth Jazz saxophonist Eric Marienthal. http://www.ericmarienthal.com/
