Due to his avuncular nature and rugged outdoorsy good looks, Guy has been referred to by some insiders as the Fred Mertz of the 6-string. Guy’s penchant for acoustic guitar began in the mid 1970’s, as a mere fresh faced schoolboy. Shortly after figuring out the open chords, Guy wrangled a cheap electric guitar and big honking Gibson tube amp.
By the late 1970’s after much encouragement from his parents, Guy packed his guitar out of his bedroom, grew out his sideburns and took off for the bright lights of the tool shed where his music would be less aggravating to the rest of the household.
After trying several different local blues and rock cover bands to varying degrees of obscurity, Guy migrated back to his acoustic roots, and began to gather a solid local following as a solo performer, entertaining as many as 20 people at a time with his quirky mix of blues, classic rock covers, and his own songs.
Guy's two self released CD’s have sold over 30 copies since 2003, and his recorded work has been featured in the TV shows “Trailer Fabulous” and MTV’s “Made”
